I appreciate the sun
Its beautiful proximity
The light in dark places
Reflecting off the moon
Rising at dawn
Setting over water
Ending a romantic day.
I fear its end
Uncertainty at night
The cold breeze
Swept over burns
Memories of brightness
On a lonely night.
Perfectly put...how for a certain amount of time, the inevitable is great. Then it turns bad.
ReplyDeleteAs all things do.
DeleteI fear its end too...wonderful tone within this Ben...appreciation turned to uncertainty...and the cold breeze swept over burns...is an apocalypse waiting to be written...
ReplyDeleteI wish the sun could shine longer.
DeleteI love the two different messages in the two stanzas. very effective.
ReplyDeleteThanks :-)
DeleteCold breeze swept over burns. I love that line. The moon is a pittance here just now. Damn, how I love her when she's voluptuous :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie. Having tough time with poetry lately.
DeleteBeautiful proximity. Nice.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see this side of things after all your night poetry.
Thanks, Heather, but my first love is the night.
DeleteI love the way you put this across !!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, GS.
DeleteI enjoyed this so much, I identify with the second part (stanza?) with the lines
ReplyDelete"Uncertainty at night
The cold breeze
Swept over burns" nights are like that sometimes.
Too often, they are.
