i was watching the movie dodgeball the other day. lance makes a cameo, he gives a monologue to inspire vince vaughn's character to persevere through the obstacles. now it just comes across as so phony.
Sad write, Ben. My husband and I were talking last night about how all of us humans are flawed---from politicians to sports heroes to people you work with. My favorite saying is there was one perfect man on earth and the people crucified Him. xoxo
From everything I have read none of the clames against him have been substantiated... there has never been a positive drug test, and the people who have been stripping his titles from him don't have the authority to, and have been told to seece and desist...
Not sure but I still think he is innocent until proven guilty
After reading more on this...the only thing they have to go on are the words of others...some of whome do not even name Armstrong... If it was as strong as all that the federal court would have charged him...
Not saying it doesn't look bad but I would think for how many times he was drug tested he would have a positive test...
He had an appeal...but he would have been asking the people going after him to give him another chance to prove his case...innocent or guilty he had no chance of swaying them...so was smart, and a money saverto just stop fighting them...
Man, this is the truth.. I love it.. They all stink.
ReplyDeleteYeah, can't believe Lance did that. It's bad enough to hook yourself, but others too...

ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought of that since it happened.
DeleteThis is sad !!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I felt pretty down about it.
DeleteCheating catches up with you I think...at least I hope it does, because I hate it when cheaters make out well. A single moment....yep!
ReplyDeleteI guess it caught up him and the rest of us.

ReplyDeleteToo true, Marion. I just wish Lance had been a little less flawed.
DeleteSo sad and since my oldest daughter is a cancer survivor she especially looked up to Lance.
ReplyDeleteOh, man. *hugs to both of you*
DeleteYeah, I was REALLY disappointed when I heard about him too. This is a sad (and good) poem.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. I'm trying to think if the good his foundation did outweighs the lie. But I don't know.
DeleteI was saddened with the news too....I read that he and his team made elaborate plans to hide it as well ~
ReplyDeleteThat was the worst part for me.

True. Maybe I jumped the gun.

ReplyDeleteOo wow, I really hope he didn't do it.
DeleteShame that a lot of sports people end up this way. Nice way to put it Ben.
ReplyDeleteYeah, just like Barry Bonds :/
