A Couple Poems

Playing with Fire

Breathing the inferno
dancing in the flames
walking on hot coals
to you across the steam.

I'll Never Tell Myself

I'll never tell myself
I wish it were the past
and all I have become
has withered on the vine.

I'll never tell myself
that life has lost its luster
while I breathe and
feel my heart.

  1. Love the first one..Oh to be able to breathe and feel your heart...we wish our lives away. Such a beautiful reminder not to.

    1. Oh, but wishing and dreaming make the live worth living. Even if it takes a little bit away ;)

  2. As long as there is fire..there is life..the two pieces work perfectly together..the first..blind faith perhaps..a mind set needed to walk on coals..the second..doubt?..when it may be best to rest a while on the path...jae

    1. Great perspective :) I hadn't thought of that consciously.

  5. So very much like the second poem. Never tell myself all that all I have become has withered on the vine. Oh so perfect a thought for me tonight.

  7. The economical build made for some surgical depth. I'm way, way impressed.
