An Ode to Those Who Never Felt the Rain

Hide yourself inside
A yellow hood.
Tell me how it feels
To know the rain
By sound alone.
Perhaps you've
Never been alone
Or felt the cold
Against your back
Pattering then pounding
You to weathered rock.

  1. Now I am sitting here remembering the sounds of rain. A good place to be at bedtime. Ben, I don't know what to say other than "Thank you." so that will have to do.

I am alive. And cold rain against warm skin makes me know it.

  2. Reminds me...there's a lot I've never experienced, and a lot of experience I take for granted.

    1. We tend to take things for granted when we're content.

  3. *ahem* Clearly you've never been in Oregon...land of perpetual rainfall. It seems like it's all romantic, but then you are just wet...and grouchy. LOL! It DOES inspire some good poetry though...like this one *she grudgingly admits*

    1. Yeah perhaps it can be tiresome in practice but it really comes through in metaphor ;-)
