Perspectives

MAN.
Hard hearted man.
He has no love
For fairy tales
Or songs of joy.
His only laughter
Is the laughter
From explosions,
Clashing metals;
Life has long since
Killed the inside child.

INNOCENCE
And ignorance
Must be won
For younger souls
And I surmise that’s why
He values early years
Enough to suffer
In the ways he does
From day to hard-fought day
Without taking time
To lay in grass or
Climb a tree.
Would you like some dessert with your main course of poem?
