I wasn't exactly sure where it was going. I had originally thought of an allegory for corporate control and ended up feeling bad for dragons always taking the rap for everything bad :p

I actually felt pretty certain that metaphor would remain throughout. The writing really threw me around though.

The dragons did have a backstory that I wrote out :) It doesn't fit with the story anymore.

BUT it's a treat too to have the original Spice fan comment :)Ben Dittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10637997946476963455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21303800.post-13361713609236781452011-06-29T06:00:22.704-04:002011-06-29T06:00:22.704-04:00*such* a treat, Ben! So many stories to read on Old Spice.

yay!

about this story:
1.) really like that it reads like folklore meets fantasy tale
2.) The way the story begins is great.
3.) I felt there wasn;t enough of a climax for the denoument to be so severe. rather than general decline, a tale like this should need a specific event to trigger that decline... or something. Or a specific event to bring it to a close - in keeping with how specific the beginning was.
4.) When you refer to the three dragon sisters - I also wondered if they had a backstory - and if that fitted with the end of the Kulates.

But as always, it was a treat. thanks, Ben Ditster - you's the original blog bard.hnoreply@blogger.com
